Growing up, I used to follow my mom to get her taxes done. I remember waiting for hours in a crowded room, hoping someone would call our number. When it was finally our turn, we were rushed through the process with no time for questions. We nodded and signed papers because we didn’t want to hold up the line. That experience stayed with me.

It made me realize that so many people, especially in immigrant communities, go through tax season feeling stressed, confused, and powerless — and year-round bookkeeping can feel just as overwhelming.
